An Ordinance to amend the Registration of Persons Ordin-
ance, 1939.
Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Registration of Short title. Persons Amendment Ordinance, 1939.

2. Section 5 of the Registration of Persons Ordinance, 1939, is amended by the insertion of the words territory" after the word

3. Section 6 of the Registration of Persons Ordinance, Amendment 1939, is amended by the substitution of the figures “1933 for the figures "1922 at the end thereof.
4. Section 8 of the Registration of Persons Ordinance, 1939, is amended by the addition of the following sub-section at the end thereof

(3) It shall be the duty of every British subject, who 1939, s. 8. has made and signed a return under sub-section (1) of this section and who thereafter either changes his ordinary residential or business address or is about to leave the Colony, to report the fact in person or in writing for registration at the Registration of Persons Office, Police Department, within one week before every such change of address or intended departure, as the case may be.
Objects and Reasons.
1. Section 5 of the Registration of Persons Ordinance, 1939, imposes a duty on masters, persons in charge, owners and agents of ships and aircraft arriving within or departing from the waters of the Colony and carrying passengers of other than Chinese race to furnish passenger lists.

2. Clause 2 of this Bill amends the section by inserting the words or territory after the word "waters cover the case of land planes.
