No. S. 321.-It is hereby notified that information has been received from His Britannic Majesty's Consul-General, Shanghai, to the effect that Hong Kong has been declared an infected port on account of cholera as from 1st July, 1939, by the Tsingtao Municipal Authorities.

Passengers and crews will be subjected to examination for the detection of vibrio.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 322.-It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Director, League of Nations Eastern Bureau, Singapore, to the effect that Hong Kong has been declared an infected port on account of cholera as from 17th June, 1939, by the Chinese Maritime Customs, Shanghai.

Passengers and crews will be inoculated before being permitted to land unless they are in possession of inoculation certificates not more than four months old.

Vessels arriving at Shanghai via Chinese ports within a period of twelve days from their departure from IIong Kong are treated similarly to vessels arriving from Hong Kong direct.

No. S. 323.-It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Director, League of Nations Eastern Bureau, Singapore, to the effect that Hong Kong has been declared an infected port on account of cholera as from 21st June, 1939, by the Government of British North Borneo.

Arrivals from Hong Kong are subject to medical inspection and may be kept under surveillance or observation for a period of five days, reckoning from the day of departure from Hong Kong, unless they produce valid inoculation certificates.

An inoculation certificate is considered valid if it has been signed by a competent authority and shows that the holder has been inoculated against cholera not less than six days and not more than six months prior to arrival in British North Borneo.

This Notification replaces G.N. No. S. 232 of 2nd June, 1939.
