No. 8. 293.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Trenching and other works for Kowloon Chai Mains ", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 17th day of July, 1939. The Contract comprises the excavation of trenches, transportation of pipes and specials, filling around the pipes with concrete and incidental works necessary for the laying of a 24" diameter supply main from Nathan Road and an 18" diameter delivery main to Prince Edward Road to and from the New Kowloon Chai Service Reservoir.
As security for the proper performance. of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $2,500 with the Accountant-General.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.
No work will be permitted on Sundays.
For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

No. 8. 294.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should. be clearly marked "Tender for Aberdeen and Aplichau Water Supply-Covered Service Reservoir, Slow Sand Filters and Quarters near Aberdeen Lower Dam, and Covered Service Reservoir in Aplichau", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 17th day of July, 1939. The work consists of the construction of Two Service Reservoirs with mass concrete walls and reinforced concrete columns and roof slabs, Four Slow Sand Filter Beds of mass concrete, together with Workmen's Quarters and Chloronome House and other contingent works.
As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $4,000 with the Accountant-General.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.
