No. S. 257.-It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Quarantine Officer, Amoy, to the effect that Hong Kong has been declared an infected port on account of cholera as from the 22nd May, 1939, by the Chinese Maritime Cus- toms, Amoy.

No. S. 258.-It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Director, League of Nations Eastern Bureau, Singapore, to the effect that passengers by air from Hong Kong to Egypt will have to undergo surveillance if they fail to produce certificates of inoculation against cholera.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 259. -It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Director of Medical and Sanitary Services, Macao, to the effect that, as from 19th June, 1939, all passengers from Macao to Hong Kong and vice versa, must be in possession of valid certificates of inoculation against cholera.

A certificate is considered valid if it :—

(a) shews that inoculation has been performed not less than six days and not. more than six months prior to the date of arrival in or departure from Macao;

(b) has a photograph of holder attached and "chopped" by an official seal of

a recognized Medical or Health Department; and

(c) is signed by a Medical Officer or Health Officer of the Governments of

Macao or Hong Kong, or some other recognized Health Department.
