ORDINANCE No. 20 of 1938. (WATERWORKS).
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 29 of the Waterworks Ordinance, 1938, the Governor in Council hereby amends the regulations appearing in the Schedule to the said Ordinance, with effect from the first day of January, 1940, as follows:-
Amendments.
1. Paragraph (e) of regulation 7 is rescinded and the following paragraph is substituted therefor-
(e) Meter rents are shown in Appendix I and are payable quarterly. Notice to pay will be given in Form B.
2. Paragraph (f) of regulation 7 is rescinded.
3. Paragraph (1) of regulation 12 is rescinded and the following is substituted therefor—
(i) When the work is completed to the boundary of the premises an application in Form I shall be made to the Water A final Authority for a connexion to the waterworks. inspection will then be made and, if the inside service is in order and the consumer has signed the appropriate under- taking in Form F, the portion on Crown land and the con- nexion to the main will be laid and the meter fixed by the Water Authority at the cost of the consumer.
4. Regulation 18 is rescinded and the following is sub- stituted therefor-
18. Water from the waterworks shall not be used for flushing water closets, latrines and urinals without a written permit from the Water Authority. The fee for any such permit shall be that prescribed therefor in Appendix I.

5. Appendix I is amended by the deletion, under the heading "PRICE OF WATER of the proviso to that heading enacted by Government Notification No. 595 in the Gazette of the 28th July, 1939, and by the addition at the end of the said Appendix of the following heading and paragraph-
Surcharges.
If any part of any account rendered in Form B remains unpaid after the date specified in the account for payment without surcharge, the amount remaining unpaid shall, if it does not exceed five dollars, be increased by twenty-five cents, and if it exceeds five dollars, be increased by ten cents for every two dollars or part of two dollars.
