No. 1111. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ALFRED REGINALD SEYMOUR MAJOR to be a Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 3rd October, 1939.

No. 1112.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. WALTER PHILIP THOMPSON to be a Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 18th October, 1939.

No. 1113.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. KENNETH ANDREW BIDMEAD to be a Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 29th November, 1939.

No. 1114.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. WILLIAM LA BARTE SPARROW to be a Divisional Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 25th October, 1939.

No. 1115.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. LANCELOT HENRY CALTHROP CALTHROP to be a Divisional Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 21st November, 1939.

No. 1116. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotion in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 13th November, 1939:-

Bombardier JOHN ROBINSON to be Lieutenant.

No. 1117.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1935, Ordinance No. 41 of 1935, Dr. CHAU SIK-NIN, to be a Member of the Medical Board for a further term of three years, with effect from 20th Novomber, 1939.
