Ordinance No. 19 of 1939.-An Ordinance to amend further the Prevention of Eviction Ordinance, 1933, as amended by the Prevention of Eviction Amendment Ordinance, 1939.

Ordinance No. 31 of 1939.-An Ordinance to amend the Hydrocarbon Oils Ordinance, 1939.

No. 894.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Miss KATHLEEN MARY POCOCK, B.A. (Hons.), to be a Mistress, Education Department, with effect from 8th September, 1939.

No. 895.-It is hereby notified that Mr. KATSUO OKAZAKI Consul-General for Japan at Hong Kong, assumed charge of the Japanese Consulate-General on 2nd October, 1939.

4th October, 1939.

No. 896.-The King's Exequatur empowering Mr. JOHN HERMAN BRUINS to act as Consul of the United States of America at Hong Kong has received His Majesty's signature.

5th October, 1939.

No. 897.—llis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotion in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 18th September,

1939:-

Sergeant DOUGLAS ERIC DAVIS to be Second Lieutenant.
