Short title
(2) This Act shall, in its application to any country or territory outside the United Kingdom, have effect subject to such adaptations and modifications, if any, as may be pre- scribed by or under an Order of His Majesty in Council; and any such Order may be varied or revoked by a subsequent Order of His Majesty in Council.
12. In this Act the following expressions have the mean- ings hereby respectively assigned to them, that is to say--
"aircraft" means any flying machine, glider or airship or any balloon (whether fixed or free);
Dominion means any Dominion within the meaning of the Statute of Westminster, 1931, except Newfoundland; and
ship" has the same meaning as in the Merchant Ship- ping Act, 1894.
13.--(1) This Act may be cited as the Ships and Aircraft and duration (Transfer Restriction) Act, 1939.

(2) This Act shall continue in force until such date as His Majesty may by Order in Council declare to be the date on which the emergency that was the occasion for the passing of this Act came to an end and shall then expire except as respects things previously done or omitted to be done.
