Navigation Order.

WHEREAS I. Sir GEOFFRY ÁLEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCUTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same, deem it expedient to exercise the powers conferred on me by regula- tion 37 of the Defence Regulations, 1939:

NOW I, the said Governor, by virtue of the powers in that behalf vested in me by that regulation, DO HEREBY ORDER that as from 0400 G.M.T. on Tuesday, 5th September, 1939. passage through the East and West Lamma Channels is prohibited to all ships. Ships, other than river steamers, entering or departing from Hong Kong Harbour, shall use the Lvemun Pass. River steamers may use the Western Entrance by way of the Kap Shui Mun Pass.
