32. If in any school there has been reported or found a case of infectious disease among the teachers or pupils of that school, an Inspector may, if he considers it necessary in the interests of the other teachers or pupils, order that school to be closed for such time as he shall consider necessary.
33. Every Inspector or Sub-Inspector who makes an inspection of any school in accordance with the provisions of sections 14 and 15 of the Education Ordinance, 1913, shall communicate the results of his inspection to the Director in writing.
PART IV.
Additional Health requirements for Boarding Schools
34.-(1) In every boarding school-
(a) the dormitory accommodation shall be, in the opinion. of the Director, adequate and satisfactory:
(b) a superficial area of at least forty feet shall be provided in every dormitory for each pupil to be accom- mmodated therein;
(c) the ceiling of every dormitory shall not be not less than 12 feet above the floor;
(d) the latrine accommodation and sanitary arrange- ments shall be, in the opinion of the Director, adequate and satisfactory, and shall conform to the provisions of Appendix B to these regulations;
(e)—(i) the washing and bathing arrangements,
(ii) the messing and kitchen accommodation, and (ii) the area provided for open air recreation, shall be, in the opinion of the Director, adequate and satis- factory.
(2) No dormitory shall be in a tenement house,
35. No boarding school shall be registered after the coming into operation of these regulations unless the latrine accommodation consists of water closets or of water closets and urinals connected to a flush system.
36.-(1) The manager of every boarding school shall cause a medical examination of every pupil and of the school premises to be made at least once in every six months.
(2) The examination shall be conducted by a registered medical practitioner, who shall report in writing to the manager on the general health of the boarders and on the sanitary condition of the school buildings as a whole and of the dormitory accommodation and the boarding arrangements in particular. The report shall also give the names of any of the boarders whose state of health is such as to demand special treatment and shall briefly state the nature of the treatment required.
(3) A copy of such report shall be transmitted forthwith by the manager to the Director.
