APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 582. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ALEXANDER BRUCE PURVES, M. Inst., C E., provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, temporarily to be a Member of the Legislative Council, during the absence on leave of the Honourable Mr. RICHARD MCNEIL HENDERSON, M. Inst. C.E., M.I. Mech. E., or until further notice, with effect from the 7th July, 1939.

No. 583.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Honourable Director of Public Works to be Vice-Chairman of the Town Planning Board.

No. 584. Ilis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Dr. THOMAS WALTER WARE, M.B., Ch.B. (Bristol), D.P.H. (London), to be a Member of the Town Planning Board pending the arrival in the Colony of the Deputy Director Health Services.

No. 585.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. JAMES RALSTON, M.A., to act as Director of Education during the absence of Mr. CLIFFORD GEORGE SOLLIS, M.A., or until further notice, with effect from 23rd July, 1939.

No. 586.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. JAMES RALSTON to be a Director of the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions, vice Mr. ARTHUR GEORGE WARNHAM TICKLE, with effect from 15th July, 1939.

No. 587.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. NORMAN FOSTER TUCKER, B.A., to be a Master, Education Department, with effect from 19th July, 1939.
