Note-issuing Banks Extension of Powers Bill.-The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the First reading of a Bill intituled An Ordinance to extend for a further period the powers of the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China, the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and the Mercantile Bank of India Limited to make, issue, re-issue and circulate notes.
