It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor in Council has given directions for the rescission of the

Order of the 24th November, 1938 published in the Gazette

of the 25th November, 1938 as Government Notification

No. 901 declaring Shanghai including Woosung to be a place at which an infectious or contagious disease, namely, smallpox, prevailed, and the same is hereby rescinded.

THE BUILDINGS ORDINANCE, 1935.

No. 542. His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to direct under section 5 of the Buildings Ordinance, 1935, Ordinance No. 18 of 1935, that the name of Mr. LAU SHING-KI be added to the List of Authorized Architects published in Government Notification No. 474 of the 8th May, 1939.

No. 543.-His Majesty the KING has not been advised to exercise his power of disallowance with respect to the following Ordinances :-

Ordinance No. 8 of 1939.-An Ordinance to make provision for the Colony's yearly contributions to His Majesty's Government for defence.

Ordinance No. 18 of 1939.—An Ordinance to amend the Ordinances and Regu- lations of Hong Kong (1937 edition) Ordinance, 1936.
