No. 500.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 4 of the Education Ordinance, No. 26 of 1913, Mrs. LYDIA FEшILY, M.D. (Vienna), State Medical Diploma (Japan), to be Inspector of Schools, with effect from 25th May, 1939.

No. 501.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the appoint- ment of Miss LAI PO-CHUEN, M.B., B.S. (H.K.), to be Secretary to the Midwives Board and Supervisor of Midwives, with effect from 25th May, 1939, vice Mrs. ALTA FRANCIS STOUT, M.B., Ch.B. (Edin.), resigned.

Regulations made by the Midwives Board under Section

4 of the Midwives Ordinance, No. 22 of 1910.

The regulations published in Government Notification No. 653 of the Gazette of the 24th October, 1930, amended as hereunder appearing.

Regulation 3 (2) (c) is rescinded and the following sub- stituted therefor :-

(c) for those whose names appear in the register provided for in Section 3 (1) of the Nurses Registration Ordinance, No. 1 of 1931-six months at such Maternity Hospital if they were appointed as probationer nurses not later than the 31st December, 1939, and twelve months if so appointed after that date.

Approved by the Governor this 19th day of June, 1939.
