No. 486.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotion in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 11th May, 1939:-

Lance-Bombardier KENNETH MYER ARTHUR BARNETT to be Second Lieutenant.

No. 487.--With reference to Government Notification No. 88 of 9th February, 1934, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Reverend CHARLES STRONG to be a Member of the Committee to administer the Mercantile Marine Assistance Fund of Hong Kong, during the absence from the Colony of the Reverend CYRIL JAMES BROWN, with effect from the 9th June, 1939.
