No. 357.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under section 9 of the regulations of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, to appoint ROBERT YOUNG, Esquire, C.A., to be an Acting Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, with effect from 31st January, 1939.

No. 358. Government Notification No. 317 published in the Gazette of the 21st April, 1959, is cancelled and the following is substituted therefor :-
His Excellency the Governor, in accordance with instructions received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to recognize Mr. CEDRIC BLAKER provisionally and pending the issue of His Majesty's Exequatur as Honorary Vice-Consul of Sweden at Hong Kong.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 40 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety and Load Line Conventions) Act, 1932,* as extended to Hong Kong by an Order of His Majesty in Council bearing date the 28th day of July, 1938, and intituled "The Merchant Shipping Load Line Convention (Hong Kong) No. 1 Order, 1938 "+ and adapted and modified as set out in the schedule to the said Order, the Governor hereby exempts from Part II of the said Act, as so adapted and modified, all ships under two hundred and fifty tons gross plying solely within the waters of this Colony.
