On Council resuming, the Attorney General reported that the Bill had passed through Committee with immaterial amendment, and moved that it be read a third time.

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

14. Criminal Procedure Amendment Bill.-The Attorney General moved the Second reading of a Bill intituled "An Ordinance to amend the Criminal Procedure Ordinance, 1899."

No. 221. His Excellency, the Governor has given his assent, in the name and on behalf of His Majesty the KING, to the following Ordinances passed by the Legislative Council:-

Ordinance No. 3 of 1939.--An Ordinance to amend the Dangerous Drugs

Ordinance, 1935.

Ordinance No. 4 of 1939.-An Ordinance for the repeal of the Government House and City Development Scheme Ordinance, 1934, and for the appropriation to the general revenue of the Colony of any balance standing to the credit of the Fund at the Treasury established under section 4 of that Ordinance.

Ordinance No. 5 of 1939.---An Ordinance to amend the Prevention of Eviction

Ordinance, 1938.

Ordinance No. 6 of 1939.-An Ordinance to amend the Evidence Ordinance'

1839.

Ordinance No. 7 of 1939.--An Ordinance to amend section 45A of the Offences Against the Person Ordinance, 1865, as enacted

by the Offences Against the Person Amendment Ordinance, 1938.
