No. 63.--His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. DENNIS MAXWELL GILL to be a Wireless Technician, General Post Office, with effect from 19th January, 1939.

No. 64.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint THOMAS WALTER WARE, M.B., Ch.B. (Brist.), D.P.H. (Lond.), to be a Health Officer, with effect from 21st January, 1939.

No. 65. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased under Regulation No. 1 made by the Governor in Council under Section 4 of the Nurses Registration Ordinance No. 1 of 1931, to appoint Miss LEUNG SHEUNG-CHI (A) to be a member of the Nurses Board for a period of three years, with effect from 16th December, 1938, vice Mrs. Wong Chow FUK-YING() resigned.

NOTICES.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. 66. Applications are invited from persons outside the Government Service for one post in the Local Section of the Senior Clerical and Accounting Staff of the Government, particulars of which are given below:-

SALARY :—$480 per annum to $700 per annum by varying increments during probationary term of 3 years. If the officer's services are found satisfactory he will be promoted to Class II with salary $1,200-$150-$3,000. Promotion to higher classes will normally be by selection.

CONDITIONS :-(a) The Section is confined to persons other than Chinese

whose permanent and only domicile is in the Colony.

(6) Only male candidates between the ages of 18 and 25, who have passed the Matriculation Examination of the Hong Kong University or some equivalent examination can be considered. Birth certificates must be produced.

Forms of application can be obtained on attendance in person at the office of the Chief Clerk, Colonial Secretary's Office, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. daily on any week day except Saturday.

Applications must be received at the Colonial Secretariat on February, 1939.
