Half feet will be indicated by a black flag exhibited from a staff at the stern of the Light Boat when the tide gauges can be read correctly.

An additional sphere on a pole will be hoisted to and will remain at the masthead while the water is rising, and will be replaced by a red flag at high water, which latter will be hauled down immediately the water begins to fall.

The signals will not be made when the tide ganges cannot be read owing to adverse weather conditions.

ROBERT DOUGLAS,

Approved:

F. W. MAZE,

Commissioner of Customs.

CUSTOM HOUSE,

TIENTSIN, 8th June, 1918.

Harbour Master.
