TRANSLATION.

Notification No. 535 of Department of Communications.

Iki Channel, North Coast of Kyushu, New Light to be Shown. NOTICE is hereby given that newly established lighthouse, on Futagami Jima, pro- vince of Hizen will be shown as follows on and after the 20th of April, 1918:-

Futagami Jima Lighthouse.

Position.--Lat. 33° 36′ 18′′ N.; Long. 129° 32′ 57′′ E. (According to Japanese

Admiralty Chart No. 187.)

Description--Octagonal concrete tower, painted white.

Height of light. -40 shaku above the base, 318 shaku above the water.

Character of light.-Fourth order group flashing white, showing a double flash- ing in quick succession during 8 seconds followed by an eclipse of 22 seconds.

Illuminated are. The whole horizon.

Power.--36,000 candles.

Visible distance.--25 nautical miles in clear night.

NOTICE is hereby given that Yojibei North-East Lighted Buoy and Yojibei South- West Lighted Buoy, W. entrance to Shimonoseki Strait, have been Permanently withdrawn.
