Taku Bar: temporary approach to the Port across the bar, provisionally lighted.
NOTICE is hereby given that the temporary approach to the Port across the Taku Bar is provisionally and temporarily lighted as follows:-
A gas-lighted buoy is placed in a position from which the North Fort Cavalier
bears N. 564 W. (Mag.), distant 5'95 sea miles.
The Bar Light-boat is placed in her new position from which the North Fort
Cavalier bears N. 53. W. (Mag.), distant 403 sea miles.
A temporary beacon has been erected at the Quarantine Station to the right of and near to the buildings thereof and from which a white occulting light is exhibited between sunset and sunrise.

Plover Point to Tungchow.
North Tree Light and Pagoda Buoy to be Discontinued.
Vine Point Beacon Light to be Established; Buoys to be Moved.
NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 29th April, 1918, the following altera- tions will be made in the Aids to Navigation of the Yangtze River between Plover Point and Tungehow, owing to changes in the channels:--
The Plover Point Buoy will be moved about 5'8 cables N. 70° E. from its recent
position. Its characteristics will not be changed.
The Waterman Bank Buoy will be moved about 3'9 cables N. 60° W. from its
present position. Its characteristics will not be changed.
The Pagoda Buoy will be discontinued.
A Beacon, surmounted by a spherical shape and exhibiting a D. 6th Order Fixed white Light from sunset to sunrise, will be established on Vine Point. This Light will be known as the Vine Point Beacon Light.
The North Tree Light and Beacon will be discontinued.
CAUTION,
A recent survey of the Langshan Crossing shows that the maximum depth now to be obtained at low water of spring tides on the Langshan Crossing between the Lower and Upper Crossing Buoys is 23 feet. As rapid changes are taking place in this section of the river, vessels are warned to navigate with caution.
All bearings given are magnetic.
