All vessels arriving therefrom are to abide, and be governed, by the Sanitary Regulations for the ports of Tientsin and Chinwangtao.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in view of the prevalent epidemic of Cerebro Spinal Fever at Hongkong, masters of vessels from that port bound for the port of Canton are to pay strict attention to Clause 26 of the Harbour Regulations which reads:-
"Vessels arriving having infectious disease on board, or any disease suspected to be infectious, and vessels any of whose crew or passengers have died of an infectious disease, or of a disease suspected to be infectious, during the voyage, shall, as provided for in the Quarantine Regulations of the port, anchor in Canton anchorage (c).

"Such vessels are, on approaching the Harbour, to hoist the Quarantine Flag (letter Q), and keep it flying until pratique has been granted. No person shall be permitted to leave or board such vessel without a permit from the Harbour Master or the Port Health Officer."
In their own interests masters of vessels bound for Canton should endeavour to insure that passengers showing signs of sickness are not allowed to embark at Hongkong.
