POLICE DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 66. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Capes for Police Reserve", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Thursday, the 28th March, 1918, for the supply of the undermentioned Capes for the Hongkong Police Reserve, viz.:

More or less-400 Capes.

No tender will be received unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $50 as a pledge of the bonâ fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.

For form of tender apply at the Colonial Secretary's Office.

For further particulars apply at the Office of the Captain Superintendent of Police.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

A sample of the Cape should be submitted with the tender.

No. S. 67. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Repairs to No. 3 Police Launch", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Friday, the 5th day of April, 1918.

Specifications can be obtained at the Government Marine Surveyor's Office.

Repairs to be executed to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

Semaphore Signal Station Time Ball.

MASTERS of Vessels and others are hereby informed that Notice to Mariners, No. I of 1917, so far as it refers to the present and following years, is hereby cancelled.

The above-mentioned notice stated that, resulting from the passing of the Daylight Saving Act, for a period beginning on the last Sunday in September each year and ending on the last Sunday in the following March, the Time Ball at the Semaphore Signal Station would, until further notice, be dropped one hour earlier than formerly, corresponding with 14 hours 30 minutes Greenwich mean time instead of 15 hours 30 minutes as prior to the alteration.
