No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $50 as a pledge of the bonâ fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person shall refuse to carry out his tender, in the event of his tender being accepted.

For form of tender apply at the Colonial Secretary's Office.

No tender will be received unless sent in the form required.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Subordinate Officers' Quarters, Kowloon, Second Block", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 8th day of April, 1918, for the erection of a block of six terrace houses on a site immediately to the rear of the existing Quarters at King's Park, Kowloon.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

Taku Bar Channel; alteration of direction of outer section.

NOTICE is hereby given that it has been decided to straighten the bar channel and that the direction of the outer section thereof will be S. 72:40 E. magnetic, which will be in continuation of the present line of direction of the inner section and "Deep Hole ".

Taku Bar Outer Leading Lights; to be discontinued: "Taku" Lightship, Entrance Buoy and the Bar Lightboat; intended change in positions.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 6th March, 1918, or as soon after as possible, the undermentioned changes will be made :-

The Taku Bar Outer Leading Lights will be discontinued.
