No. 1295.---His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, Mr. ALFRED NewTH MACFADYEN to act as Magistrate, Kowloon, during the absence of Mr. QUENTIN ALLISON ASHBY MACFADYEN from 4th December to 10th December, 1910, both days inclusive.

No. 1296.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, under section 4 of the Education Ordinance, No. 26 of 1913, JouN MACFARLANE GRAY, L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. (Ireland), L.M. (Rot.), D.P.II. (Dublin), to be Inspector of Schools, with effect from 18th November, 1940.

No. 1297.- His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Lieutenant-Commander JAMES JOLLY, R.D., R.N.R., to be Controller of Water Transport and Detaining Officer in place of Commander GEORGE FRANCIS HOLE, R.N. (Retired), with effect from 14th November, 1940, until further notice.

No. 1298.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased under the powers conferrel by section 4 (1) of the Compulsory Service Ordi- nance, 1939, No. 32 of 1939, to appoint Mr. Cedric Blaker, M.C., to be a member of the Compulsory Service Tribunal in the place of Mr. HARRIE VAUGHAN WILKINSON, D.S.O.

No. 1299.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Subadar Major HAIDAR REIMAN, 2nd Battalion, 14th Punjab Regi- ment, to be his Honorary Aide-de-Camp, with effect from 18th November, 1940.
