ORDINANCE No. 22 of 1919. (PLACES OF PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT REGULATION).
Lighting of auditorium.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Places of Public Entertainment Regulation Ordinance, 1919, the Governor in Council hereby further amends the regula- tions made under the said Ordinance and published in the Gazette of 3rd August, 1934, as Government Notification 587, as amended by Government Notification 764 published in the Gazette of 29th October, 1937, as follows:-
Amendments.
1. Regulation 38 is amended--
(a) by inserting a dash and the letter "(a)" immediately after "provided" in the second line thereof;
(b) by renumbering paragraphs (2) to (15) as sub- paragraphs (b) to (0) of paragraph (1), and paragraphs (16) and (17) as (2) and (3);
(e) by deleting the second proviso in paragraph (2) as renumbered.
2. Regulations 60, 63 and 64 are rescinded and the following regulations substituted-
60. None of the provisions of these regulations relating to electric systems shall apply to any licensed building existing on 3rd August, 1934, until either-
(a) major electrical alterations are commenced; or
(b) the licensing authority gives written notice to the licensee that there is a danger of fire from faulty wiring or apparatus,
whereupon, in either case, all the provisions of these regula- tions shall apply to such building.
63. For the preservation of orderly conduct as much light shall be maintained in the auditorium as is possible without detriment to the performance or entertainment.
64. Good general illumination shall be provided in the auditorium whenever possible without detriment to the per- formance or entertainment.
