COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. 1179. It is hereby notified that in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 22 of the Blackout Order, 1910, published in the Gazette of 16th August, 1940, as Government Notification No. 920, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government declares that the period from sunset on Tuesday, 29th October, 1940, until sunrise on Thursday, 31st October, 1940, shall be an occasion of experiment or practice for an occasion of emergency or public danger, during which the said order shall be in force in every district in this Colony.

No. 1180.-- In accordance with regulation 8 of the Regulations as to grant, forfei- ture, restoration and other matters concerning The Efficiency Medal in regard to the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, published as Notification No. 579 in the Gazette. of 2nd August, 1935, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to authorize the following award :-
