In exercise of the powers conferred by Regulation 5 of the Defence (Finance) Regulations, 1910. flis Excellency the Officer Administering the Government hereby designates the following foreign currencies as currencies to which Regulation 5 of the Defence (Finance) Regulations, 1940, applies that is
to say-
Belgian Congo franes. Portuguese escudos. Netherlands East Indies guilders, Netherlands West Indies guilders, New- foundland dollars, Panamanian dollars, Philippine pesos.
Such foreign currencies are in addition to the foreign currencies enumerated in paragraph (5) of Regulation 5 of the Defence (Finance) Regulations, 1940.

Order.
In exercise of the powers conferred by regulation 4 of the Defence (Finance) Regulations, 1940. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government hereby makes the following order supplementary to the order made under regulation 4 of the Defence (Finance) Regulations, 1940, and published as Government Notification No. 546 in the Gazette of 17th May, 1940-
1. No British subject shall, except with permission granted by or on behalf of the Governor, sell, transfer or do anything which involves the creation of a charge on, securities the principal, interest or dividends of which are payable in the currencies of the Belgian Congo, the Netherlands West Indies, Newfoundland, Panama, the Philippine Islands, or Portugal, or in respect of which the holder has an option to require the payment of principal, interest or dividends in the currency of any of those countries.
2. Every British subject being the owner of any securities referred to in paragraph 1 of this Order shall, within twenty- one days of the date of this order, make a return to the Financial Secretary setting out the particulars of all such securities and the place or places in which they are held: Provided that in the case of any person who is absent from the Colony at the date of this Order, the return may be made at any time within twenty-one days of his return to the Colony.
