No. 842.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. HARRY MAUGHAN COCKLE to act as Accountant, Treasury, with effect from 5th July, 1940.

No. 843.- His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. SAMUEL LEWIS LLOYD to act as Organizer of the General Group for Essential Services in the IIong Kong Defence Reserve, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. JOHN KEITH BOUSFIELD, M.C.

No. 844. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to approve that Second Lieutenant THOMAS ALEXANDER PEARCE be allowed to resign his commission in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 31st July, 1940.

No. 845. It is hereby notified that the undermentioned roads, originally known as Main Street Sai Wan Ho and Main Street Shaukiwan West, will in future be known by the name indicated against them :--

Description.

Road commencing at its junction with King's Road at Tai Kat Street, near the east gate of the Taikoo Dockyard, running in a south-easterly direction and terminat- ing at its junction with Factory Street at No. 12 Bridge.
