** (a) if the point of time before which or the period of time within which the instrument should have been stamped has arrived or expired, as the rase may be. and the instrument is one in respect of which a person is specified in the sixth column of the Schedule as being liable for the stamping thereof, the instrument shall be impounded and, unless the instrument has been produced to the Collector him- self, shall be forwarded to the Collector:

(b) in any such case, before the exclu- sion or rejection of the instrument, the person tendering such instrument shall, if he desires, be given a reasonable opportun- ity of applying to the Collector for special leave under the provisions of section 16:

(c) in all other cases, unless otherwise expressly provided in this Ordinance, the instrument shall, saving all just exceptions on other grounds, be received in evidence upon payment to the court, arbitrator or referee of the amount of the unpaid duty and of the penalty, if any. Such duty and penalty, if any, shall be remitted to the Collector with the instrument to be stamped after the instrument has been admitted in evidence."

(5) Section 9A-the words and whenever the Collector is required under section 14 to express his opinion with reference to any instrument, #PO inserted immediately after "stamping in the first line.

(6) Section 12, sub-section (5)--the word appears is substituted for ' shall appear in the last line.

(7) Section 14—sub-section (2) is repealed and sub-sections (3) to (10) are renumbered as (2) to (9).
