No. 688.-- In accordance with regulation 8 of the Regulations as to grant, forfei- ture, restoration and other matters concerning The Efficiency Medal in regard to the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, published as Notification No. 579 in the Gazette of 2nd August, 1935, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to authorize the following award :--
Efficiency Medal.

To the Owner of Survey District IV Lot No. 1008.
No. 689.-Take notice that Survey District IV Lot No. 1008 is required for a public purpose and will be resumed on the expiration of one month from the date of the posting of this notice on the said land and that thereupon such com- pensation will be paid as may be awarded in the manner provided by the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance, 1900, as amended by the Crown Lands Resumption Amendment Ordinance, 1930, and further take notice that you are hereby called upon to nominate a member to serve on the Board of Arbitrators to determine the amount of compensation to be paid in respect of such resumption, and that in the event of your ailing to nominate a member to serve on the Board within one week after the date of the expiration of this notice then the Chairman of the Board may nominate a member to serve on your behalf.
