ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939. (COMPULSORY SERVICE).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 1. (2) (d) of the Emergency Powers (Defence) Act, 1939. as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, published respectively as Govern- ment Notification Nos. 707 and 708 in the Gazette Extra- ordinary No. 39 of the 26th August, 1939, His Excellency the Governor makes the following regulation amending section 3 (1) (d) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939:-

Amendment.

Section 3 (1) (7) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance. 1939, is amended by the insertion of the following words at the end thereof:-

"For the purposes of this paragraph. a man, who was before September, 1939, regarded by a recognized missionary society as a candidate for missionary work under its auspices shall be deemed to be included as a regular minister of the society both during his training and after his appointment to a specific post under the society."

COMPULSORY SERVICE ORDINANCE, 1939.

ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939.

The following persons, of ages from 1 to 54 years inclusive, shall, as from the date of publication of this list, be deemed to have been enrolled in, and to belong to, the Hong Kong Defence Reserve:-

McKenzie, James Stanley
