An Ordinance to amend the Prevention of Eviction Con-
solidation and Amendment Ordinance, 1939.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Prevention of Eviction Amendment Ordinance, 1940.
2. Sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Prevention of of Ordinance Eviction Consolidation and Amendment Ordinance, 1939, (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Ordinance") is amended by substituting a comma instead of a full stop at the end of that sub-section, and by adding the following words. at the end of that sub-section, but not allowing any increase or anticipated increase in respect of any property tax imposed by the War Revenue Ordinance, 1940".

3. Section 4 of the principal Ordinance is amended by of Ordinance the insertion after the words thinks proper in the ninth line, of the words "but not allowing any increase or anti- cipated increase in respect of any property tax imposed by the War Revenue Ordinance, 1940".

Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended by substituting a comma for a full stop at the end of sub-section (1), and by adding at the end of that sub-section the follow- ing words, "but not allowing any increase or anticipated increase in respect of any property tax imposed by the War Revenue Ordinance, 1940 ".
5. Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is amended of Ordinance by the substitution of the figures "1941" for the figures
