No. 572-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under section 9 of the regulations of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, to make the following appoint- ment in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force :-

To be Acting Sub-Lieutenant.

No. 573. His Excellency the Governor has approved the relinquishment by Acting Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant BRIAN MELTON BATEMAN of his commission in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, as from 3rd May, 1940.

No. 574.-His Excellency the Governor has approved the relinquishment by Acting Chaplain The Reverend CHARLES STRONG of his commission in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, as from 23rd April, 1940.

The following is published for general information :---

Procedure applicable to Export Licences relating to goods consigned to Europe.

Shippers of goods consigned to Europe in respect of which an export licence has been issued by the Controller of Trade are requested to supply one copy of the export licence to the agent of the ship by which the goods are to he carried.

Agents of ships sailing to Europe should make sure that all the export licences relating to cargo consigned to Europe are carried on board the ship when it leaves Hong Kong and that the serial numbers of the licences have been entered against the relevant items on the ship's manifest.
