COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
1. It is hereby notified for general information that His Excellency the Governor has approved the use of the follow- ing commercial codes for the purposes of regulation 12 of the Defence Regulations, 1939—
I. Bentley's Second Phrase.
II.
Bentley's Complete.
III.
IV.
A.B.C. 6th Edition.
Petersen's International 3rd Edition.
V. Acme Commodity and Phraseology.
2. Persons requiring permission either to keep in their possession or to use any other code should make application in writing to the Censor at the Ship's Box Room, Censorship Department, 1st Floor, General Post Office Building, Hong Kong.
3. Every code for which any such permission is required must be delivered to the Censor with the application. The Censor will give a receipt for codes so delivered.
4. If any such permission is subsequently given the code will be registered and returned to the applicant.
5. If permission is not given the code will be retained by the Censor.
6. The public are warned that the possession, except with permission, of any code the use of which has not been approved by His Excellency the Governor is an offence under the Defence Regulations, 1939, punishable by fine and imprisonment.
