No. 459.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. JAMES REYNOLDS to be Crown Counsel, with effect from the 19th April, 1940.

No. 460.-Ilis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. JAMES REYNOLDS to act as an Assistant Land Officer and Deputy Registrar of Marriages, with effect from the 19th April, 1910,

It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor, under instruc- tions received from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to appoint JOSEPH PATRICK FEHILY, M.B., B.Ch., B.A.O. (N.U.I.), F.A.C.S., D.P.II. (Belf.), to be Senior Health Officer, Medical Department, with effect from the 1st January, 1940.

No. 463.-The King's Exequatur empowering Mr. ROBERT WATLAND RINDEN to act as Vice-Consul of the United States of America at Hong Kong has received His Majesty's signature.

No. 464.-Ilis Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under the provisions of Statute 7 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, to nominate Mr. GEOFFREY SAMUEL ARCHBUTT as a Member of the Court of the University of Hong Kong for a further period of three years, with effect from 21st April, 1940.
