No. 442.- In accordance with regulation 8 of the Regulations as to grant, forfei ture, restoration and other matters concerning The Efficiency Medal in regard to the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, published as Notification No. 579 in the Gazette of 2nd August, 1935, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to authorize the following award-

It is notified under the Defence (Finance) Regulations, 1940, that the following additions are made to the Chinese banks registered under Regulation 1 (1) (b) as permitted to sell Chinese currency and to remit money to China subject to such limits and on such conditions as have been notified to each bank individually : —

It is hereby notified that by Orders of the Chief Justice dated the 17th day of April, 1940, the branches in Hong Kong of the undermentioned Danish Companies formerly controlled from Denmark are placed under the Control of the Custodian of Enemy Property and are authorized to carry on business in accordance with the said Orders except with the Kingdom of Denmark and other Territory under Enemy Control.

The East Asiatic Company Ltd.
The Great Northern Telegraph Company Ltd.
