No. 394. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. HuGH HANDLEY PEGG to be an Assistant Director of Public Works, with effect from 6th April, 1940.

No. 395.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. ARTHUR EVELYN LISSAMAN, F.S.I., Chartered Surveyor, M.Inst. M. & Cy. E., to be an Executive Engineer, with effect from 6th April, 1940.

No. 396.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. LAWRENCE HUGH MCCABE, B.A. (Cantab.), to be a Land Surveyor, with effect from 6th April, 1940.

No. 397.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. BRUCE HALE PUCKLE, D.S.O., to be Assistant Director of Air Raid Precautions, with effect from 22nd January, 1940.

12th April, 1940.

No. 398. It is hereby notified that Government Notification No. 67 published in the Gazette of 19th January, 1940, is cancelled and the following substituted :----

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint the following officers, with effect from the dates shown:-

1. Mr. CLIFFORD GEORGE SOLLIS, M.A. (Oxon.), to be Director of Education,

with effect from 29th November, 1938.

2. Mr. WILLIAM LUCAS HANDYSIDE, M.A., B.Sc., to be a Senior Inspector of

Schools, with effect from 29th November, 1938.

3. Mr. GEORGE EDGAR SKYNNER UPSDELL, M. A., to be a Senior Master, Education Department, with effect from 29th November, 1938, and to be Principal, Central British School, with effect from 1st January, 1939.

4. Mr. DAVID MORGAN RICHARDS, B. A., to be a Senior Master, Education

Department, with effect from Ist January, 1939.

5. Mr. GEORGE WALKER REEVE, B. A., to be a Senior Master, Education

Department, with effect from 16th January, 1939.
