ORDINANCE No. 6 of 1932. (INDUSTRIAL AND
REFORMATORY SCHOOLS).
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that by a certificate dated the 30th day of March, 1940, under the hand of Sir GEOFFRY ALEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies, the Governor in Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Industrial and Reformatory Schools Ordin- ance, 1932, certified that the South China Training Institute was fit for the reception of youthful offenders to be sent there under the said Ordinance.

ORDINANCE No. 55 of 1936.
(LIGHTING CONTROL).
The Governor in Council has been pleased to direct and it is hereby directed--
That Thursday, the 11th day of April, 1940, shall be an occasion for experiment or practice in lighting control by express command and, that on that day from sunset until the sounding of the last of two RAIDERS PASSED signals is sounded, the regulations made under the above Ordinance published as G.N. 565 in the Government Gazette of the 14th July, 1939, as subsequently amended by G.N. 824 of the Government Gazette Extraordinary of the 20th September, 1939, and G.N. 57 of 1940 in the Government Gazette of the 19th January, 1940, respectively, shall be in force.
And it is also further Directed—
That the exemption contained in Regulation 19 relating to an occasion of an experiment or practice in lighting control as regards navigation and riding lights on ships and vessels. under way or when anchored or moored to a buoy and naviga- tion lights on aircraft and at aerodromes shall be suspended on the said day during the first of the two BLACKOUTS contemplated in this practice.
