COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
It is notified for general information that the Army Council has made the following decisions regarding the emoluments of retired Army officers taken into employment with Dominion and Colonial forces during present emergency.
1. Officers retired from the Imperial forces who were awarded retired pay by the War Office and are re-employed with the forces of Colonial Dependencies during and on account of the present emergency will cease to receive service retired pay from the effective date of such employment, but will be eligible to receive an addition to colonial pay of 25% based on British Army rates of pay.
2. Officers who have commuted any portion of their retired pay will suffer the deduction from their pay of an amount equivalent to the amount of retired pay that was commuted.
3. Retired officers in receipt of disability retired pay from the Ministry of Pensions will continue to draw this retired pay but will be eligible only for so much of the 25% addition mentioned above as exceeds the service element of their retired pay.
4. Non-regular officers in receipt of disability retired pay will continue to draw this retired pay but will not be eligible for any addition to such pay,
5. The 25% addition to pay will be met from Imperial funds and the onus of claiming such addition will rest with the individual officer.
