possession as may be so specified, being information or an article which the competent authority considers it necessary or expedient in the interests of public safety, defence or the efficient prosecution of the war to obtain or examine; and if any person fails to furnish or produce any information or article in his possession in pursuance of a request duly made to him under this regulation he shall be guilty of an offence against this regulation.

(2) A prosecution in respect of an offence against this regulation shall not be instituted except by, or with the consent of, the Attorney General.

Rules made by the Governor under regulation 18 of the Defence Regulations, 1939.

1. Any person in respect of whom an order has been made under regulation 18 of the Defence Regulations, 1939, directing that he be detained, may make objections against the order either in person, or by counsel, solicitor or agent, to the advisory committee appointed by the Governor under the provisions of that regulation.

2. Notice of objections in respect of orders, directions and conditions attached to directions under the said regula- tions may be sent in writing by post to the Chief Justice's clerk at the Courts of Justice, Hong Kong.
