No. S. 315.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in quintuplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for repairs to M. L. Britannia", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 19th day of September, 1938.
A list of work may be obtained at the Assistant Government Marine Surveyor's Office, Government Slipway, Yaumati.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
The work to be carried out to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor and to be duly completed within the number of working days specified by the tender to commence from the date of handing over of the launch to tenderers for repair; failing completion within such time deduction will be made from the contract price, by way of liquidated damages for delay, at the rate of $30 for each and every subsequent day until and including the date of due completion of the work.

URBAN COUNCIL Office.
No. S. 316. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the Slaughter House Contract, Sai Wan Ho", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 19th September, 1938, for the privilege of slaughtering animals for the food of man in the Government Slaughter House at Sai Wan Ho, for the period of one year from the 1st January next.

No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $75 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing condi- tions to be prescribed by the Council and also to give security by depositing a sum of $550 with the Accountant-General: failing compliance with these requirements the sum deposited by the tenderer will be forfeited.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.
