NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
Firing practice will be carried out from Stonecutters Island between the hours of 8.00 p.m. and 12 midnight, 26th July, 1938.
Alternative dates 8th and 22nd September, 1938.

No. S. 208. -It is hereby notified that tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Fire Fighting Equipment for Post Office Building", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 25th day of July, 1938.
The fire fighting equipment consists of the following:--
(1) 20 pairs of brass hose couplings complete with seizings to-
(2) 20-60 feet lengths of 14" diameter of best quality woven canvas fire hose. (3) 10 tapered copper branch-pipes with brass base and nozzle 1" diameter.
Overall length 12".
(4) 20 steel hose coupling spanners.
For further particulars application should be made to the Superintendent's Office, Central Fire Station.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
No. S. 209.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked Tender for maintenance of Water Works", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 25th day of July, 1938, for the maintenance, repair, and minor extensions or alterations of Water Works in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories from 1st September, 1938 to 31st August, 1939.
As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $1,000 with the
Accountant-General.
No work will be permitted on Sundays.
For form of tender, specification, contract and further particulars apply at this Office.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign a contract in the form supplied to tenderers.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
The Government does not bind itself to place all work or any specific work required
in the hands of the accepted contractor.
