(5) Every main staircase hereafter crect- ed in any building which is constructed or adapted or converted to be used, or which is used, either wholly or in part as a tene- ment house for separate families shall be, together with the landings and enclosure walls thereof, of fire resisting materials and carried by supports of fire resisting materials. All door and window openings or glazed partitions communicating with any such staircase shall be adequately pro- tected by fire resisting doors of solid teak not less than two inches thick or by wired glazing or by some other method equally satisfactory to the Building Authority.
