The rainfall for the month of August at the Botanical Gardens was 5ius. 22 on 14 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was ins. 90 on 6 days, at Fanling, 5ins. 46 on 6 days, at the Royal Naval Ilospital, Hong Kong, 3ins. 86 on 6 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, fins. 82 on 13 days.
The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 459 at 2h on the 1st.
The maximum gust velocity, as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 41 miles per hour at 13h 20m. on the 21st.
