No. 1072. His Majesty the KING has not been advised to exercise his power of dis- allowance with respect to the following Ordinances :—

Ordinance No. 6 of 1906, entitled-An Ordinance to provide for the establishment of Asylums for the Detention, Custody and Care of persons of unsound mind, and others.

Ordinance No. 14 of 1906, entitled-An Ordinance to amend the Law of Evidence

in Criminal Cases.

APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 1073.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint provisionally or until further notice ARTHUR CHAPMAN, Major, Hongkong Volunteer Corps, to act as Commandant, Hongkong Volunteer Corps, vice Major CLIVE GORDON PRITCHARD, R.G.A., on leave, with effect from the 21st instant.

No. 1074.-It is hereby notified that JESSEE REES LEE, Inspector (Third Class) in the Sanitary Department, has been suspended from the exercise of his office for corrupt. practices, with effect from the 24th instant, pending the decision of the Secretary of State for the Colonies regarding his dismissal from the Government Service.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. 1075.—It is hereby notified that Messrs. HEINRICH HEYN and RICHARD FUHRMANN trading as Messieurs REUTER BROCKELMANN AND COMPANY of Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, Merchants, have complied with the requirements of Ordinance 6 of 1898, for the registration in this Colony of their Mark No. 240 of 1906, as applied to Cotton piece goods of all kinds, in Class 24; and that the same has been duly registered.
