EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

No. 651.

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under section 5 of the Ferries Ordi- nance, 1917, Ordinance No. 28 of 1917, on the 13th day of December, 1929.

The regulations made by the Governor in Council under the Ferries Ordinance, 1917, set forth on pages 744-751 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, under the heading "I.—CENTRAL”, amended as appears in Government Notifications Nos. 309 of 1926, 720 of 1927 and 584 of 1928, are hereby further amended as follows :-

(a) in regulation 19, line 1, the words "or attempt to travel" are inserted between the words "no person shall travel and the words "on any-ferry vessel: " and

(b) the following regulation is inserted next after regulation 19,-

19A. No person shall use or attempt to use for the purpose of travelling on any ferry vessel any season ticket not originally issued to him or not intended, according to its terms of issue, to be available for his use for such purpose.

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under section 4 of the Stamp Ordi- nance, 1921, Ordinance No. 8 of 1921, on the 19th day of December, 1929.

Heading No. 9 in the Schedule to the Stamp Ordinance, 1921, is hereby amended by the addition in the third column, after the words "on two million dollars", of the following words,-

Provided also that with effect from the 19th December, 1929, and pending the further order or regulation of the Governor in Council the duty on bank notes of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation shall not exceed one per cent. per annum on $45,000,000 of the aggregate bank note issues of such corporation.
