The rainfall for the month of August at the Botanical Gardens was 20ius. '07 on 23 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was 15ins. 12 on 21 days, at the Royal Hong Kong Golf Club, Fauling, it was 15ins. '67 on 23 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, it was 12ins. 58 on 17 days.

Correction to July report.-Rainfall at Matilda Hospital should be 18ins. 43.

The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 025 at 13h. 43m. on the 22nd.

The maximum gust velocity, as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 117 miles per hour at 13h. 39m. on the 22nd.
