5th July, 1918.
CLAUD SEVERN,
Colonial Secretary.
The South Channel leading from seaward into Manila Bay has been closed to traffic and is protected by mines. This channel extends from Caballo Island on the north to Restinga Point on the south.
The South Channel from Monja Island to Limbones Island has been closed to traffic at all times. All traffic is limited to the North Channel between Guardia Shoal and Monja Island and only between sunrise and sunset and after permission has been granted and instructions given by naval patrol at entrance. All entering vessels must stop outside Monja Island and await instructions from patrol vessel or Cochinos Point Signal Station. Compliance with these regulations will be enforced.
The North Channel between Corregidor Island and the shore of Bataan Province is closed to traffic inward from sunset to sunrise, except to certain vessels engaged in public service.
Obedience to the above rules will be enforced by vessels of the United States Navy, including destroyers and submarines, based in Mariveles Bay, and by the batteries of Corregidor Island.
Failure to comply with any of the above regulations may result in the destruction of the offending vessel.
