Order made by the Governor in Council under Sections 3 and 4 of the Importation and Exportation Ordinance, 1915, Ordinance No. 32 of 1915, on the 4th day of July, 1918.
1. Rule 30, which was published in the Gazette of the 14th January, 1916, and which was amended by the Order in Council which was published in the Gazette of the 7th December, 1917, is repealed.
2. Rule 33, which was published in the Gazette of the 21st January, 1916, is repealed.
3. The following words are added at the end of Rule 24, which was published in the Gazette of the 7th January, 1916 :-

"Any import or export permit issued under the Sugar Convention Ordinance, "1904, or under the Liquors Consolidation Ordinance, 1911, may be "endorsed as valid also under the Importation and Exportation Ordi- nance, 1915, and thereupon such permit shall be deemed to be so valid "accordingly."

NOTE -The repeal of Rule 30 has the effect of making intoxicating liquors and raw opium subject to all the Importation and Exportation Rules. The repeal of Rule 33 has the effect of making all sugar subject to all the Importation and Exportation Rules. In the case of the importation of intoxicating liquors it will be necessary for importers to obtain import permits under the Importa- tion and Exportation Ordinance, 1915, in addition to the permits required under the Liquors Con- solidation Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 9 of 1911. In the case of the exportation of intoxicating liquors the export permits issued under the Liquors Consolidation Ordinance, 1911, will be endorsed as valid also under the Importation and Exportation Ordinance, 1915. In the case of sugar imported in accordance with the provisions of the Sugar Convention Ordinance, 1904, Ordinance No. 14 of 1904, the permits issued under that Ordinance will also be endorsed as valid also under the Importa- tion and Exportation Ordinance, 1915.

No. 249. -His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under Section 19 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, Lance Sergeant WILLIAM ARTHUR PEPPERILL to be a Sanitary Inspector for Stanley, with effect from the 3rd July, 1918.
